Introducing the Next Generation of Power: The New 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500
We don’t like calling ourselves shallow, but put something shiny and new in front of us, and we become like a kid in a candy store.
Or, in this case, a grown man on a Chevy car lot.
The new Silverado for 2027 is making its debut with an entirely new look for the next-generation pickup, along with new features and a pair of V-8s that have us itching to get behind the wheel.
Let’s take a look at what we know about the latest arrival, what’s still a best-kept secret, and how soon we can get behind the wheel for a test drive at Team Chevrolet of Salisbury!

A Bold New Look for the 2027 Silverado 1500
It’s been eight years since Chevrolet introduced an all-new Silverado, and one look at the new model shows why.
The new look is bolder than years past and yet somehow even more handsome (if we can be so bold as to say such things about a pickup). New signature LED headlamps and taillamps set the tone for the exterior, featuring a distinctive lighting signature that surrounds the headlights and can play animations to greet the driver.
Joining the new headlamps are a more expressive grille, a 3-foot center high-mounted brake lamp, and dual exhaust and tailgate applique, all of which add to the unmatched presence of this Chevy truck.
You may recognize some exterior paint colors returning to the lineup: Summit White, White Sands, Black, and Sterling Gray Metallic. However, it wouldn’t be the next generation without some new arrivals coming in hot–figuratively, of course.
New exterior paint colors for the 2027 Silverado will include the hot and spicy Apex Red and the deep, earthy Trillium Green Metallic.
A Trusted Legacy Reimagined: Exploring the Engines
Returning to the scene of power and performance are the upgraded TurboMax and class-exclusive Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel engines. Available on the current 2026 Silverado, the TurboMax delivers a steadfast 310 horsepower with a best-in-class standard torque of 430 lb-ft, making it a fair choice for every type of driver.
For those seeking a diesel that can haul, the Duramax is an easy choice. Producing 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque, the real power lies in its towing capabilities, which can haul up to 13,300 pounds with ease.
However, these two engines won’t be the only ones in the lineup.
Chevy is introducing the next-generation 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V8’s, set to fuel what looks to be the most powerful Silverado yet.
Specific figures have not yet been released, so be sure to stay up to date on our blog for the latest information on this modern marvel!
A Space Age Interior for a Modern Ride
There’s no question about it: one look inside the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado and this truck was designed for the modern age. The panoramic sunroof brings open-air driving inside your pickup, while Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology lets you sit back and take it all in.
While still keeping your eyes on the road, of course.
What really sets the stage for the Silverado’s interior is the technology. With over 60 inches of combined available screen space, get ready to be fully immersed in the driving experience without feeling overwhelmed.
Connect to your Silverado with the class-leading 16.3-inch center screen and 12.2-inch driver information center, complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. On higher trims, unlock even more screen time with features like the 11.5-inch touchscreen for the front passenger, a head-up display, and digital rearview mirror, to name a few.
