Lexington Area Chevrolet Dealership

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is a popular model at the Lexington area Chevrolet dealership. The 2022 model gives customers even more to like. This full-size pickup gets significant enhancements, including a restyled cabin and a new self-driving system that can be used with a trailer in tow. Of course, the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado is powered by a lineup of potent engines. Towing capacity is 13,300 pounds, and buyers can order many trailering technology features that facilitate towing.

According to the Chevrolet dealer near Lexington, changes for 2022 include a redesigned front end on all trim levels. The LT and higher trims get a restyled interior that includes an updated arrangement and higher-quality materials. These trims also get an infotainment system with a 13.4-inch touchscreen, as well as a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Most of the Silverado's driver-assist features are now standard across the lineup. The range-topping High Country can get the new available hands-free Super Cruise feature mentioned above. Finally, there's a new off-road ZR2 trim level.

The automotive press recognizes the merits of the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado. Motor Trend writes:

"The Silverado 1500 succeeds in what a full-size truck sets out to do: perform on the job. Along with strong powertrains, the Silverado benefits from exceptionally spacious bed options. Rear bumper corner cutouts make it easy to step into the bed for loading and unloading, and the six-function tailgate isn't just a gimmick."

The 2022 Silverado 1500 is available in nine trim levels: Work Truck (WT), Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, ZR2 and High Country. There are four engines on offer. The turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine gets a boost in torque. It now produces 310 hp and 420 lb-ft. Its eight-speed automatic transmission has been modified to handle the increased torque.

The other three engines carry over unchanged from last year. There's a 3.0-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel generating 277 hp and 460 lb-ft, a 5.3-liter V8 developing 355 hp and 383 lb-ft, and a 6.2-liter V8 making 420 hp and 460 lb-ft. These engines are matched to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The V8 is the fastest of the powerplants. In Car and Driver testing, this engine made the sprint to 60 mph from off the line in 5.4 seconds.

The Silverado's 13,300-pound towing capacity allows drivers to do some serious hauling. You can get this level of pulling power with the 6.2-liter V8 or the diesel unit. The 5.3-liter engine still provides a respectable towing capacity of 11,500 pounds, and the turbo-four can pull up to 9,500 pounds. The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado can haul between 1,870 and 2,280 pounds, depending on the engine.

The Silverado 1500's infotainment system includes a touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The LT and higher trims get the 13.4-inch touchscreen mentioned earlier. It includes advanced features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a voice assistant powered by Google, and optional Amazon Alexa.

Standard safety features include a blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert, forward collision warning with automated emergency braking, lane departure warning, and lane keeping assist.
