Lexington Chevrolet Shoppers Get A First Look At The 2019 Chevy Silverado
As one of the best-selling trucks in the United States, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 doesn’t need to rely on following ostentatious trends to retain its popularity at dealers like the Lexington area Chevrolet dealership, Team Chevrolet. And Silverado buyers don’t expect it. The Silverado pleases owners with its rugged legacy and its incredible abilities. As you might expect, although the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 gets a redesign this year, the folks at Chevrolet didn’t allow this full-size pickup to stray from its classic appearance.
The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 gets a number of changes that keep it competitive with its full-size pickup rivals. Owners will love the Silverado’s selection of V8s, which provide impressive towing and hauling power and allow the pickup to accelerate briskly. All this capability doesn’t come at the expense of driving dynamics — the Silverado 1500 handles like a smaller vehicle.
On the outside, the Silverado 1500 gets a more prominent grille and minor changes to its body panels. Under the hood, there are new engines and transmissions to choose from. Inside, buyers will appreciate the added technology features and the addition of many new options. Drivers will also love the revised graphics on the 8-inch touchscreen, as well as the new arrangement for some of the controls and gauges.
Although the 2019 Silverado 1500 is larger than the outgoing model, it’s a lot lighter. In fact, the engineers at Chevrolet managed to shave off up to 450 pounds from the 2018 Silverado, thanks to the use of high-strength steel and aluminum in the production process. The large cabin ensures passengers will travel in comfort, and there are three more inches of legroom in the back seats.
One of the great aspects of the Silverado 1500 is its configurability. Whether you need a truck for work, towing and hauling, off-roading or for driving around town in comfort, you can get the Silverado outfitted just the way you like it.
Lexington Chevrolet Cummuters Love Choice In Cab Size
The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 comes in three cab sizes and three bed lengths. There are eight trim levels on offer: Work Truck (WT), Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ and High Country.
To customize the Silverado even further, buyers can choose one of six engines. A 4.3-liter V6 engine produces 285 horsepower and 305 lb.-ft. of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. A 2.7-liter four-cylinder powerplant puts out 310 hp and 348 lb.-ft. of torque, connected to an eight-speed automatic. A 5.3-liter V8 engine generates 355 hp and 383 lb.-ft. of torque, mated to the six-speed automatic. This engine feature Active Fuel Management, a system that turns off half of the engine’s cylinders under light-load conditions to conserve fuel.
Two engines come with Dynamic Fuel Management, an advanced system that enables only the cylinders necessary to provide power, offering the ideal balance of fuel economy and power. These include a 5.3-liter V8 engine that makes 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque, joined to an eight-speed automatic; and a 6.2-liter V8 powerplant that’s good for 420 hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque, teamed to a 10-speed automatic.
Finally, there’s a 3.0-liter inline-six turbodiesel engine that’s mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. This engine will be available later in the model year.
